The Power of Minnow

I have been reluctant to post about this as I don't want to been seen as one of 'those" parents. I think we all know our children are special. But, there is something about my little Minnow that drives people "crazy." Not bad crazy but good crazy. I get mobbed--literally--nearly every public place I go. People cannot get enough of him--men and women--a like. This surpised my hubby as he didn't really think men went crazy from babies who aren't their own.

There is something in this child of ours that seems to reach out to people. Minnow and I were having lunch the other day and an elderly couple came up to us, sat down and started talking to Minnow. At the mall play yard--mothers have stopped playing with their own child to play with Minnow. This power he has is amazing and scary. I am not use to getting so much attention. But it is obvious that our little boy is special. A young girl (twentysomething) described him as having a radiance about him. Maybe this happens to all of us and as a new parent I don't know any better, but I don't see other people with children be "hounded." At the grocery store yesterday, a produce worker saw Minnow and then went and got his girlfriend out of the back room and she went and got another woman who in turn went and got another. Minnow was all smiles and giggles. But it was crazy and it happens every where.

Please share your paparazzi moments with your children. I would love to hear them.

Teeny's quite a star wherever he goes, too! And no, I did not get this kind of reaction with my first 2 kids. Thankfully, they are very proud of him and don't seem to mind the attention he attracts. So many people are thoughtful, too, and include his awesome older sibs in their praises.

Doesn't it just make you feel good about people in general?

ps - Minnow is VERY special. What a precious, strong, loving person he is.

Well I don't have my baby yet so I'll just gush about your Minnow instead. He seriously is one of the most beautiful boys I've ever seen. And his eyes are filled with joy. I'm not one bit suprised that people flock to him.

I just found your blog through Finding Baby G... I had to comment on this - (first, your baby is adorable) I know what you mean when you say people are drawn to him. I think there are some kids out there that just have that radiance about them - our friends adopted a boy and he has it - he gets attention wherever they go and he is literally like a little light that shines. It's hard to explain, but it's a joy to just be around him, and I'm sure that is what people are responding to in your boy!
